At Gelevate Education, we believe in providing students with the tools and skills that will help them thrive in an ever-evolving digital world. Recently, we had the honor of working with an amazing group of 30 students from South Queens who took part in our HTML and CSS coding class. These students, ranging in age and background, took on the challenge of learning the fundamentals of web development — and their results were nothing short of impressive.
Mastering the Fundamentals: HTML & CSS
Throughout the course, students were introduced to the building blocks of web design, starting with HTML (HyperText Markup Language), the code behind web pages, and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), which styles and organizes the content on those pages. Our goal was not only to teach technical skills but to inspire creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving — all essential components of any successful coder’s toolkit.
Exceptional Achievement
The results from this class speak for themselves. An incredible 92% of our students scored above 80% on their final assessments, showcasing both their hard work and their ability to grasp complex concepts. This achievement is a testament to their dedication, resilience, and the collaborative environment fostered in our classroom.
We are incredibly proud of every student in this cohort. Their success reflects not just their technical skills but their ability to apply knowledge in practical, real-world scenarios. These students now have a foundational understanding of HTML and CSS, which will serve as a stepping stone for any future endeavors in coding and web development.

With the basics of HTML and CSS under their belts, many students are already excited to dive deeper into the world of web development, exploring more advanced topics such as JavaScript and responsive design.
